Clutter signal modeling and generation in radar technology

Traditionally, radar has been developed dominantly for military purposes. However, it has recently widened its applications for autonomous vehicles and the interface with machines using gesture recognition, e.g., Project Soli of Google. In radar, clutter signals represent all the unwanted signals that do not originate from a target of interest but from other environments. To detect and track a target with better accuracy, it is critical to understand the characteristics of clutter and know how to suppress them in signal processing. We are developing and generating the clutter signal model for various environmental conditions.
