Clutter signal modeling and generation in radar technology
- Traditionally, radar has been developed dominantly for military purposes, but recently, it has widen its applications for automous vehicles and the interface with machine using gesture recongition, e.g., Project Soli of Google. In radar, clutter signals represent all the unwanted signals, which is not originated from a target of interest, but from other environments. To detect and track a target with better accuracy, it is critical to understand the characteristics of clutter and know how to suppress them in signal processing. We are currently developing and generating the clutter signal model for various environmental conditions.
